Ski Season or knee of the season?

In the northern hemisphere holidaymakers are preparing for the ski season preparing clinical knee to receive an avalanche of skiers and stacked at your door! Here is why.

First altitude. Same in the cities at the foot of the slopes, it may take several days to acclimate to the altitude. Until now in its first morning to find her eyes swollen? A low air pressure, fluid evacuation conduit vessels blood and tissues. However, often run directly slopes skiing holiday, where the pressure is still low and rarest of oxygen.

Take dehydration. The fluid escaping into the body tissues due to low atmospheric pressure allows the blood vessels dehydrated. Even the air we breathe is dry as precipitation sucks the fluid out of the atmosphere. Dehydration can lower your blood pressure, so now the brain is fed lower blood pressure and contains less oxygen. This can be shown that mild fatigue, slight dizziness and shortness of breath sweet. It is easy to put it simply the bracing year, and decided to stop at the top and warm, with a glass of mulled wine. Warning over alcohol oxygen hunger? Not good for the head, but not good for the muscles of the leg or the other.

Then look at the muscles. How often spend six hours a day with your knees bent five degrees? Well, you do when skiing. Your quads and hamstrings are overtime, with their fuel stored and compromised by their blood pressure low oxygen deficiency.

Now go to ski links. The rental skis usually benefit from an experienced technician to adjust the links according to the height and experience of the skier. People with their own skis can adjust the same links, and make sure they are good and rigorous, so that the skis not get away with all collisions. The connections are designed to separate when you have an accident, to save the voltage applied torque on the knees in place!

Finally, the snow. If only we could guarantee party everyone will be blessed with good snow. With only a week's vacation, it's too bad, if the snow is not optimal and have little free time had to go on the slopes anyway.

Now we have a recipe for complete disaster cruciate ligament in the knee. snow in patches with a lot of bits to catch skiing. tight links to the twisted pairs of skis bond is transferred directly into the cruciate ligaments of the knee. quads and hamstrings commitment incapable of protecting the Crusaders. Suddenly a crash! It is the anterior cruciate ligament and the rest of the party!

My advice is as follows. If you want to enjoy the ski season book for over a week. Book at your local gym for a few sessions under supervision before leaving for vacation. Then spend a couple of days of acclimatization on the lower slopes and enjoy your hot wine there, the oxygen pressure, while its rehydrates body and your blood pressure to rule out low offset. The knees are very grateful and the knee clinic at home enough to adjust and wait to football season!
